Fashawn – Boy Meets World EPK
For those of you who are aware of the new artists coming out of the west coast, like Blu and DJ Exile, meet … Fashawn the Phenom.
What makes Fashawn different from many other West coast rappers, is that he will interestingly name a lot of East Coast rappers as his major influences. For someone who grew up in the era of Tupac, NWA, and (young) Snoop, citing artists such as Nas, Rakim and Big Daddy Kane are a little uncommon.
So, can we consider him a part of gangsta rap?
“It’s some sprinkled in there because that’s just where I come from and live everyday. But I’m not on records talking bout I want to kill people or slap bitches”
Not really. So is he a hipster?
“That whole hipster rap, I hate that shit. I don’t want to get caught in that bubble.”
So how can you categorize Fashawn?
We have our opinions, but why don’t you check out his video and tell us what you think.
You should know this by now.
